龍谷大学ミトラ館はグローバル化が進む大学に求められる留学生寮としての機能に加え、他大学の学生を交えた課外活動ができ、卒業生や保護者も利用可能な短期研修機能や海外からの短期研究員の滞在施設である教員宿舎機能が集まった建築となっています。
また、体育館やクラブ棟などキャンパスの他施設と隣接している立地を生かし、交流スペースや階ごとに特徴の異なる個性的なラウンジを各所配置することで、他施設と連携しながら学生を中心とした利用者の主体的な活動を支援するキャンパス全体の活性化を促す建築を目指しました。
”Mitrakan” is the international students dormitory of Ryukoku university. The functions are not only the dormitory desired to the university in the globalization but also a short term’s training function for extracurricular activities with other university’s students, and also graduates and their guardians can use the space. It also works as a teacher appartment for foreign researchers.
By the good location closed to the other univeisity facilities like the Gym and club activities building, the dormitory has
engagements with these buildings with some community spaces and unique lounges in each floors. It will work to activate a whole of the campus by supporting independent activities by students and others.
